POLYESTER POWDER COATING
POLYESTER POWDER COATINGS: as per BS 6496
Polyester Powder Coatings in various colours designated by RAL numbers. Please contact us for your colour requirements. Some colours can also be specially matched to requirements.
a. Polyester Powder Coatings on Aluminium:
Polyester powder coatings are applied on extruded aluminium profiles and sheets in various RAL colours. The aluminium profiles goes through a pretreatment cycle for cleaning before application of the coloured powder and curing cycles. The coating thickness is to an average of 70-90 microns.
b. Polyester Powder Coatings on Steel Substrates:
Polyester powder coatings are applied on steel substrates in various RAL colours. The steel is first shot blasted and then either a single stage powder coating process to an average thickness of 80-90 microns or a two stage powder coating process is applied. In the two stage powder coating process, the first stage of the powder coating involves spraying and curing a zinc rich powder, and the second stage involves the application of the coloured powder followed by the curing cycles. The coating thickness is to an average of 30—40 microns for the first stage and 70-90 microns for the second stage.
c. Polyester Powder Coatings on Steel Substrates:
Galvanized steel items (hot dip galvanized and electro galvanized) are also coated using pretreatment systems for cleaning followed by application of the coloured polyester powder and curing cycles.
We therefore reproduce below the characteristics of the coated powder on 0.8mm Chromated aluminium panels
(65 micron thickness).
